Technology as a learning tool, a mode of expression and a form of communication has become a way of life. Buzz Aldrin is equipped with eight Technology hubs as well as computers in every classroom. A fiber optic backbone supports the technology infrastructure throughout the building, allowing immediate access to the Internet and global information.

Students use technology to become writers, mathematicians, scientists and digital artists in ways that emphasize the construction of knowledge and its application.

Students use effective research techniques to gather their own data, examine, interpret, evaluate information and present their findings using multimedia platforms. Students will also utilize video streaming, design projects to work in real time, investigate the time line of technology and develop keyboarding skills.

Project Lead the Way (PLTW) is an important, innovative part of the Technology program at Buzz Aldrin. PLTW teaches pre-engineering concepts at the middle school level incorporating three units of study:

  • Design and Modeling
  • The Science of Technology
  • Automation and Robotics

Broadcast Studio is a hands-on, project based class designs to introduce students to the fundamentals of video and television production. Students can return to take the class each year to develop their skills and to work on various independent projects. Please visit the Broadcast Studio site for images and project samples.
